Coram Creative Therapy and the Institute of Contemporary Music and Performance have come together to provide unique song writing and music making opportunities for young people, following a donation from the Institute towards a fully fitted professional recording studio for music therapy at Coram. This rich mix combines industry expertise and therapy to channel expression and creativity where personal stories are expressed through music and voice.
The engagement and excitement of participating young people is palpable and signals the need for more opportunities to be generated to support children experiencing trauma and adverse life experiences and significant social disadvantage.
Young people said:
“I was able to express myself and share with others”.
“I would love to do this again and feel inspired to work on music more at home”.
“It has helped me find my voice again with song writing”
